“At the entrance of the portals, Wisdom cries aloud: To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.” (Proverbs 8:3-4)

Theology as a Foundation for Teaching
with Dr. John Sehorn, Associate Professor of Theology and Academic Dean
“What is man that you are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4).
Taking the Psalmist’s question as a starting point, this talk considers the path of creation and redemption as disclosed in Sacred Scripture, then suggests why and how theology serves as the foundation of authentic Catholic liberal education.
Learning and the Life of a Catholic Teacher
with Dr. Andrew Seeley, Director of Advanced Formation for Educators
Americans are very practical, efficient, and overworked. Time spent learning seems wasted if we do not see how it applies to our job or our life. In this talk, Dr. Seeley discusses how fostering a love of learning brings fulfillment to the life of Catholic teachers while enriching their teaching.
In Dialogue with the Master Teachers
with Dr. Jeffrey Lehman, Professor of Philosophy and Theology
By putting master teachers of the Western tradition—Plato and Aristotle, Vergil and St. Augustine, Cicero and St. Thomas More—in dialogue with one another and with Sacred Scripture, this talk shows how a lively and engaging conversation emerges that helps us integrate all learning under the light of the Catholic faith.
Seeing All Things in One: Wisdom and the Catholic Teacher will take place online from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. (MT) on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
