About the Event
Often a campus visit is one of the most clarifying factors in a prospective student’s discernment of graduate studies.
We invite you to spend the day with us as we explore the Psalms written by King David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and prayed by Our Lord Himself. With our patron, Saint Augustine as our guide, we will enter into these hymns of praise, thanksgiving, sorrow, healing, and mercy—prayed by the whole Church for the salvation of the world, through our Head, Jesus Christ.
Our prayer is that this day of lectures, prayer, and fellowship with faculty and students will aid you in your consideration of theological study.
Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.

What to Expect
- 1-2 night stay in the Residence Towers
- Exclusive seminars on the Psalms taught by the faculty of the Graduate School
- The opportunity to discern graduate studies at the feet of our eucharistic Lord in adoration and Holy Mass
- A tour of campus highlighting the sacred art throughout the buildings
- A nature walk through the wooded trails of the campus along the Missouri River
- Social events with professors and students
Who Should Attend: Prospective on-campus or distance education students interested in a master's degree with the Augustine Institute.

Jonathan Reyes, Ph.D.

Praying the Psalms with King David
Speaker Bio
As one of the founding members of the Augustine Institute, Dr. Reyes serves as the St. Augustine Chair of the Evangelization of Culture. He has served in senior leadership at various Catholic institutions including the USCCB, FOCUS, the Knights of Columbus, Christendom College, Catholic Charities, and is the founder of Christ in the City. He is a nationally known speaker and was the executive producer of the documentary Mother Teresa: No Greater Love (2022). Dr. Reyes teaches History of Catholic Education and Discipleship and the Christian Life.
Christopher Mooney, Ph.D.

Speaker Bio
Dr. Mooney is a theologian specializing in Augustine and his theological legacy, particularly regarding the nature of faith and grace. He is the author of Augustine’s Theology of Justification by Faith, published this year by Cambridge University Press. He teaches courses on The Rule of Faith, Patristic & Medieval Exegesis, and Theology in the Life and Mission of the Church.
Michael Patrick Barber, Ph.D.

Christ’s Embodiment of the Psalms
Speaker Bio
Dr. Barber is a New Testament scholar who has authored numerous scholarly articles and publications, most recently, The Bible and the Anointing of the Sick: Healing in Christ, published by Baker Academic and The Historical Jesus and the Temple: Memory, Methodology, and the Gospel of Matthew, published by Cambridge University Press. He teaches Pauline Literature, Jesus and the Gospels, the Gospel of Matthew, Luke and Acts, Catholic Epistles, and Apocalyptic Literature.
